I am a Data & Artificial Intelligence specialist, Staff AI Native Builder at Neon and founder of diversiData, an education, diversity and technology initiative that has impacted more than 15,000 people through courses, mentoring, training programs and social projects.
I have been coding since I was 14. For 11 years I have worked with Artificial Intelligence and taught technology, building data and AI products and solutions with companies such as Itaú, PicPay, Nubank, Thoughtworks, Nike, Ambev and Neon, across machine learning, generative AI, digital products, risk, credit, marketing, automation and AI governance.
At UNESCO I am part of two initiatives, Women 4 Ethical AI and AI Experts Without Borders, contributing to global discussions on responsible AI, bias, gender, inclusion and governance. I am also a member of the Global Shapers Community, an initiative of the World Economic Forum, and I was an invited expert in the process of including the Data Science profession in the Brazilian Classification of Occupations (CBO).
I am a teacher, speaker and mentor, with more than 700 mentoring sessions delivered, and I dedicate a significant part of my work to democratizing access to technology for women, Black people, Indigenous peoples, LGBTQIAPN+ people, people with disabilities, people from the periphery and other historically underrepresented groups.

“I met Dessa when I was taking my first steps toward a career transition. It is a moment of uncertainty, vulnerability and a lot of fear, even more so when we are young Black women trying to open the doors of a mostly white, male, meritocratic space. Even though Dessa never met me in person, she always made me feel welcome. She answered all my questions, about programming or about career, listened to my fears and, most importantly, pushed my insecurity away. It is comforting to know that in moments of change you can count on someone like her, who wants to see you successful and happy with your work. I hope one day I can repay everything she did for me.”
Natália BaptistaCareer mentoring“I was lost, not knowing how to grow in my career. Or rather, I did not know where to build my career at all. Finding Andressa, who is Black, a woman and one of the most brilliant and charismatic people I know, opened many doors on my path of self-knowledge through conversations and advice, and shed light where there was insecurity about whether someone like me, with no IT background, could become a data professional. Today I work in the field, and she will always carry great weight in my decisions. Thank you, Andressa!”
André JuniorCareer mentoring“Andressa already inspired me during her presentations at the company where we worked together. She was one of the creators of a project for the inclusion of Black people in tech, which transformed my vision of this world. Today I have been completely won over by this great mentor and I am already taking my steps in a data career. I am very grateful to have found her and trusted Dessa with the first steps of my professional journey.”
Walas CoelhoMentoring and DAT[A]FRO“I do not even know where to start! Dessa was with me in one of the most important moments of my life: my career transition. When I decided to look for new opportunities, she was the support I needed to understand the new profession and light up the next steps of the journey. I am so grateful! I always will be.”
Icaro NeryCareer mentoring“Andressa is truly inspiring. It was a great pleasure to work with her at PicPay and learn so much on culture, diversity and inclusion. She is a woman relentless in her pursuit of excellence at work and always available to help people.”
Thaís RigolonWork colleague · PicPay“Andressa is a professional of excellence! Beyond delivering at the highest level, she is always sharing her knowledge, and her drive for inclusion and diversity is inspiring.”
Thaíssa CarrafaWork colleague“Andressa has that rare combination of sharp analytical ability, attention to detail in every piece of code she writes, and the verbal communication of a leader and keynote speaker. What they call soft skills for data science professionals, Andressa has naturally! A top-level professional I would recommend with my eyes closed to any company, and someone I would love to work with again!”
